Desperate to Defeat Health Care Reform, "Conservatives" Are Now Claiming Reform Will Target Gun Owners

Really, how sad and desperate are these people? Gun Owners of America is scaring its members with the ridiculous claim that the government will charge gun owners more for health insurance:
GOA said that diagnoses such as post-traumatic stress disorders or other mental illnesses could be a reason the government uses to charge you more for health insurance under the public plan, or as part of co-op regulations.
And, where exactly does this come from? Also, what if private insurers made gun owners pay more. But, this is not about charging those who own guns more, but those who suffer some sort of mental stress (and has access to guns, not a great combination).
To demonstrate the poor writing and reasoning of these "conservatives" desperate to make a political argument read the following from the column:
It wouldn’t be the first time gun ownership has been tied to health regulation. GOA claims that over 150,000 vets with post-traumatic stress disorder are currently on a list that prohibits gun purchases. But Obamacare would expand government health care to millions of additional Americans.
I am actually glad that those with mental illnesses can't have access to guns. Remember what happened at Fort Hood, should that man have had access to a gun?? But, what is the relation between denying guns to those with mental disorders and expanding health care? Is there a threat that more people may actually be diagnosed with a mental disease? I guess it is better for gun ownership rights that these people go undiagnosed. That is just great. And these people want to run the country. Scary!!

I am all for gun rights and all, but sometimes these people just take it way too far. Look, before you start recruiting second Amendment advocates into your cause, come up with a coherent and somewhat articulate argument. I know it is tough for "conservatives" to do, but why not try.
Crazy Conspiracy,
False Reasoning,
